Meta Dia in Anguilla 2013 – Pic By Emmany

Meta Dia is a Reggae artiste from Senegal, we met in Paris in 2011 during an interview for Smoking, he then came to Bankie’s Moonsplash Festival in Anguilla as a guest in 2013.

He has that Smooth Roots vibe and solid sounds with The Cornerstones, yes It’s Meta & The Cornerstones!

His story is one of a Roaring Lion, he used to rap in the streets of Dakar, Senegal, as ‘Meta Crazy’. He left to NYC with a dollar and a dream; heard the song from Bob Marley & The Wailers ‘Coming in from the cold’ and that was it! Meta gathered musicians from the 4 corners of the earth and became Meta & The Cornerstones.

In 2008 he dropped his 1st album ‘Forward Music’, for the 2nd album he went to Tuff Gong Studio in Jamaica for that special sound and recorded ‘Ancient Power’ including featurings with Damian ‘Jr Gong’ Marley, Capleton & U-Roy.

That hot afternoon when Big Youth heard him sound checking at Moonsplash 2013 in Anguilla, he went to him to greet him and said: ‘You fulla vibes man! Mi Love it!’
